Wow, I had such a great day at Storlien today. I though the season was over after our little springbrake, with a lot of work and school coming up, but I was wrong! Last night me and Marius decided we would give it a last try with the good weatherforecast for today. He had to be back at work just after lunch, so we didn’t have much time. Fortunately, Storlien brings short laps and minimal liftlines to the table, and we spent the time well. We shot a little mellow video for you guys, hope you like it, cause we had tons of fun!
Late night out last night, checking out the nightlife. Pretty fun!
We were totally in tourist-mode today, trying to see what Buda had to offer us Norwegians.
Really beautiful city to wander around in, and the weather helped us out today. Perfect day!
Budapest is divided into two parts, Buda- and Pest. You can see the Buda-side on the picture with the river dividing the two parts.
I know I shouldn’t be blogging about buildings and architecture, but this city is full of beautiful buildings and castles.
We went to check out the Gellert-spa, supernice warm water where we were surrounded by architecture that looked like it was taken straight out from a movie in the old Roman times.
See what I mean? This made my day, it was so relaxing and peaceful.
Thumbs up from me!
Me checking out the city from a big hill on the Buda-side. They had this huge castle on top of the hill that had something to do with the second world-war.
Marius enjoying the view.
Getting artsy with the iPhone photos.
And look what I found!! Oldschool Bomba-can. Too bad it wasn’t the real deal. Or, it did not taste as Bomba does.
Time to go back home and repack my bags tomorrow. Busy period of the winter coming up.
Lovely to get a little time off skiing and get recharged for the busy period to come. 0630 flight from Trondheim this morning, and I got to sit in the cockpit for the first time with a friend that works in the airline we flew with. Super-excited to finally beeing able to do so. I am really into airplanes for those of you who didn’t know that, and I didn’t get less excited after the flight-leg this morning. Wonderful clear weather on the way to Oslo.
Somwhere over Malmø, Sweden on our way to Budapest.
As far as my knowledge goes, Budapest is well known for its architecture and buildings. Seems about right, as most of the buildings were pretty damn insane.
At the airport in Budapest we were warned by signs that sketchy pirate-taxi companies were trying to trick you into riding their cabs for higher prices than normal. Of all the legit taxi-companies that were outside the airport, me and Marius managed to choose the most sketchy of them all. Classic rookie mistake.
A little sceptical, perhaps?
Another thing that I got to experience the first 5 minutes in this country, was the price-levels. At this fancy restaurant me and Marius had lunch WAY over our style and class, but managed to pay less than a sandwich would cost at home, for both of us. Crazy country!
Time 4 spa and relaxation.
As I never go anywhere without music, I made sure to bring some real sound this time. BOOM!
Time to have some dinner.
